How to Play Go Bonkers?

Learn how to play Go Bonkers, a chaotic Indian party card guessing game with 3 hilarious rounds. Simple rules, endless fun, perfect for house parties and festivals.

Good news:

You don't need to be smart.

You don't need to be quiet.

You definitely don't need to read this twice.

Go Bonkers is designed to be learnt in minutes and remembered forever (mostly because of the embarrassing things your friends will do).

The Goal of the Game

The goal is simple:

make your team guess what's on the card before the 1min timer runs out.

How you do that changes every round.

How chaotic it gets... that's on you.

What You'll Need?

👥

4–12 players

📱

A phone (for the 60-second timer)

⚔️

Two teams

😳

Zero shame

That's it.

Setup

1

Split everyone into 2 teams.

2

Each player takes 10 -15 cards from the box.

3

Pick a few favourites and add them to one final deck. • Aim for 30–40 cards total in the final deck.

4

Put the rest of the cards back in the box.

5

This same final deck will be used for all rounds.

That's your chaos deck.

How a Turn Works?

  • Decide which team goes first (toss, rock-paper-scissors — your call).

  • One person from the starting team picks up the deck.

  • Set a 60-second timer.

  • Start guessing.

  • As soon as your teammates guess a card correctly:

  • Give it to your teammate.

  • Pick the next card immediately.

Set 60-second timer ⏱️
Team guesses cards 🗣️
Timer hits zero ⏰
Pass to other team 🔄

When the timer hits zero:

  • Stop mid-chaos (teammates can guess one last time, but no more clues).

  • Hand the remaining cards to the other team.

  • They continue from where you left off.

The round ends only when all cards have been guessed by either team, next round is started by the losing team.

Round 1: Say Anything

This is the warm-up round.

And by "warm-up", we mean things already start getting loud.

Rules:

  • You can say anything to make your team guess the card

  • You can use actions and gestures

You cannot:

  • Say the word on the card

  • Use words written in the bubble

  • Use translations or rhyming words

  • Use clues that make the game boring (you know what we mean)

No skipping cards in this round.

If you're stuck — suffer through it.

Example:

If the card is "Third Wheeling", you might say:

"When your mom forces your younger brother to come along on your date... what is he doing?"

Finish the round, count your points, and write them down.

A card from the card game go bonkers with the title "meri gf ke saath involve hona was funny" and the player has to guess this word.
A card from the board game go bonkers with the title "black coffee but it's only milk" and the player has to guess this word.

Round 2: One Word Only

Same deck.

Same cards.

Now your brain has to work harder.

Rules:

  • You can use only ONE word per card

No:

  • No actions

  • No sounds

  • No extra hints

If your team can't guess, move on to the next card

This is where panic sets in.

Example:

If the card is "Third Wheeling", you might just shout:

"Auto!" or "Brother" (referencing to the previous round)

At the end of the round:

  • Count your points

  • Add them to your Round 1 score

  • Shuffle the same deck again

A card from the card game go bonkers with the title "analbumcover" and the player has to guess this word.
A card from the bored game go bonkers with the title "drunk rahat fateh ali khan" and the player has to guess this word.

Round 3: Act It Out

Welcome to the final round.

This is where dignity leaves the room.

Rules:

  • No words

  • No sounds

Just actions, expressions and full commitment

It's pure charades, but worse — because you already know the cards.

Jump. Dance. Mime. Overact. Do whatever it takes.

Finish the round, add all points together, and declare a winner.

Tiebreaker Round
(If Things Get Serious)

If both teams are tied, it's time for the most unhinged round.

Rules:

  • One person acts

  • But they must use their teammates as props

  • No talking

  • No acting alone

Move their hands. Their legs. Their face. Whatever it takes.

Example:

If the card is "Armpit Fart", grab a teammate's arm, stick it under their armpit, and flap it up and down until someone guesses it.
